Initial Processing: All manuscripts are automatically logged into our tracking system when they are submitted online through Editorial Manager. Corresponding authors can track the decision process by logging into their author account in Editorial Manager. Manuscripts that do not meet the criteria for publication are promptly rejected.
Initial Review: All manuscripts undergo internal review by the editor-in-chief, deputy editor, associate editors, and staff editors as appropriate.
Peer Review: Some manuscripts are selected after this initial review to be sent to independent reviewers for scientific evaluation. We encourage authors to suggest the names of possible reviewers, but we reserve the right to final selection. The journal follows a double-blind review process, wherein the reviewers and authors are unaware of each other’s identity. Every manuscript is also decided by the editorial team based on the comments from the reviewers. The comments and suggestions (acceptance/rejection/amendments in manuscript) received from reviewers are conveyed to the corresponding author. If required, the author is requested to provide a point-by-point response to reviewers’ comments and submit a revised version of the manuscript. This process is repeated till reviewers and editors are satisfied with the manuscript. Most decisions are made within 90 days of receipt of the manuscript. Authors are notified of decisions via email. At the end of this process, manuscripts receive one of the following decisions:
accept, reconsider after minor revisions, reconsider after major revisions, and reject.
